6804 LLU MAX BOSL Solid-Lube, MAX-Design, Black-Oxide, ABEC-3, radial suspension bearing - 10mm x 32mm x 7mm - Enduro Bearings pioneered MAX type bearings over 20 years ago for bicycles to address the challenges associated with mountain bike pivots. MAX-type bearings provide 35-40% more load capacity than standard radial bearings by utilizing a special design where a full complement of balls (i.e. all balls, no retainer) are inserted into the bearing, via a custom ground slot in the races. The additional balls, combined with deep race grooves in these bearings provide much greater lateral support for the twisting and multi-directional forces associated with mountain bike pivots. MAX Solid-Lube bearings feature a unique solid-lubricant-infused polymer that replaces the grease inside of the bearing, eliminating any space for water or dirt to gather inside of the bearing. After 3 years of successful field testing in the harshest conditions, we can confidently back Enduro MAX Solid Lube, Black-Oxide bearings with a two-year, all-conditions, maintenance-free warranty. Enduro Solid Lubricant fills the entire cavity of a ball bearing leaving almost no room for contaminants or moisture to penetrate and create friction. The foamed polymer is injection molded into the bearing assembly replacing traditional grease or oils. The Solid Lube polymer is composed of two essential parts: a continuous microporous polymer and a proprietary lubricant containing special additives. When the Solid Lube is in contact with the moving balls, the lubricant is transferred from the millions of pores to the ball and race surfaces under the action of temperature and pressure. This creates a uniform and continuous lubrication film between all metal parts, minimizing friction. When the bearing has stopped, the lubricant on the surface is absorbed back into the micropores of the polymer under the action of capillary forces and stored for the next movement. This MAX-type, Black-Oxide, ABEC-3 bearing features Black-Oxide treated, 52100 High-Carbon Chromium alloy races paired with two rows of grade 10 Balls. All Enduro bearings are engineered with deeper grooves to accommodate the largest balls possible, providing maximum bearing contact area and greatly increased bearing life. Designed specifically for bicycle applications, the LLU full contact seals used in these bearings utilize a dual-lip labyrinth design to provide maximum protection from the elements. The Black-Oxide/Magnetite coating provides an extra level of corrosion resistance, as well as an additional level of material normalization, for extended worry-free performance against wear and the elements. This size bearing has been used as a suspension pivot bearing by a number of bicycle brands including Orbea and Santa Cruz.
